What do you do you make your day green?
I love to make food and make almost everything from scratch, try never to throw food away. I do not like shopping and I am not really a huge consumer, which makes it easier to live green. When I need to buy things, I try to choose brands that I know are better choices and look for second-hand options.

Unfortunately I’m not a great indoor plant parent! I’m a bit better at growing plants in an outdoor vegetable garden.

What do you do to make your day green?
It’s a lot of little things. I live in a tiny apartment, walk to work, reuse and recycle whenever possible, minimise plastics and energy consumption, try to get my produce at farmers’ markets, and mostly eat vegetarian. When I have to buy something, I’m mindful about which companies I give my money to.

A well-loved leather jacket

If you only had 8 different garments, what would your wardrobe look like?
Dark blue jeans, grey t-shirt, leather jacket, white shirt, soft cotton maxi dress, forest green sweater, wool blanket-scarf from Aritzia, and my made-in-Montreal waterproof ankle boots.

What colors do you believe in for next season?
I think clothes colours are individual for what works best on each person, but I tend to wear a lot of rich earth tones in the autumn.

Both! I spent the first seven years of my career in the arts, so I can’t choose. I enjoy spending time at Blank Space and Gimle cinema in Oslo.

I love live music. If I’m not a concert, you can likely find me hiking, kayaking, reading, or dancing.

I make a lot of brownies and cookies to share J I try to show an extra bit of care and spread positivity.

What is happiness for you?
Spending quality time with family and friends, even better if it’s over a good meal. I feel very at peace in nature, and am also happy when I feel like my work is making a positive contribution to society.

What’s your life motto?
I don’t have a motto, but I try to live each day with gratitude and a sense of adventure. Life is short.

Who inspires you?
Everyone who is putting their energy toward making the world a better place. I have a lot of respect for people who face adversity and still keep pushing for positive change. I’m fortunate that through my work I get to meet many inspiring people from around the world.

Do you have a local hero you would like to give a shout out to?
Yes! Ingrid Helsingen Warner dedicates a lot of time to creating spaces where people feel included and also facilitates important global conversations. She is the founder of Minds of Oslo, Circles, and a co-founder of Sustainability Hub. She’s one of the first people I met when I moved to Oslo and she continues to inspire me with her commitment to building community.

You are what you eat, what are you?
Colorful. I love eating food with a range of colors, pale food makes me depressed.

What would never end up on your plate?
Liver. I think that is the only thing I do not like. And since I often dissect mussels for days and days in the lab, I sometimes struggle to eat them for dinner as well ?

Do you have green fingers?
I want to say yes, but I’ll let you know in the fall. This year we are trying to grow our own vegetables in the garden– (strangely) it is so much fun!

What do you do to make your day green?
As an environmental scientist caring about the nature and all the interesting creatures living in and of it, I try to practice what I and take extra care of it. I am engaged in beach clean-ups, try to avoid unnecessary single-use plastics and I love the website Finn.no where you can find all sorts of used treasures! And since we have a small kid it is also so nice that we can inherit used clothes and shoes for her, because she is growing so quickly!
I also been so lucky to have so much nice things from my grandparents, they saved everything and took so great care of the things they owned. We also avoid driving our car during weekdays, try to only eat meat when we are treating ourselves, buy Norwegian vegetables, plan the food week in ahead so we don’t throw away food, teach our daughters about the environment and how to protect it and so on.

Do you have any green goals?
To sell our car and use “bilkollektivet” instead the times we need a car. I also want to fly only once per year for work and once per year for pleasure. Being a scientist there are a lot of conferences and meetings abroad, but I aim to reduce the times I fly and rather join by skype or get there by using alternative transportation.

The best things in life are for free

Who inspires you?
The young generation. They are so much better than we were to think more holistic about the environment and to be much more aware.  I am also very motivated by colors, so “Farge Dagny” is also an inspiration!

All the volunteers that are spending their free time on cleaning up plastics everywhere!

Do you have green fingers?
We  just moved to a new home with a small garden at Tåsen in Oslo, so I’m working on my gardening skills,  but I still have a long way to go! My mother-in-law gave me a gardening book for Christmas, so I take the hint  I have 40 plants in my house that so far has miraculously survived, and I just planted 7 new green friends outdoors last week, so wish me best of luck. And R.I.P. to all the two-hundreds of you who didn’t make it.

What do you do you do to make your day green?
I ride my bike every day, compensate my unavoidable emissions through CHOOOSE and do whatever I can to reuse, reduce, repair and recycle, avoid plastic and choose veggie-options whenever possible. We’ve changed to a green electric provider at home, stopped buying new stuff and replaced our cleaning products to more environmentally friendly options. My daughter and I pick up plastic on our way home from kindergarten, I’ve made her believe it’s some sort of treasure hunt. I’m also a big fan of positive climate-friendly solutions like TISE, Tuckify, Fjong and Too Good to Go. I’m always looking for new environmentally-friendly habits and luckily taking green choices becomes easier every day. And even though we all need to reduce, reuse, refuse, reduce and recycle, we must not forget that there are only 100 companies alone who are responsible for 71% of global CO2-emissions. Putting pressure on these companies, voting with what you buy and supporting politicians who are focusing on tackling climate change is an important action to contribute to combat the climate crisis on a daily basis. I definitely need to reduce my use of flight transportation, and I hope the aviation industry will manage to come up with a climate-friendly alternative soon.

What’s your fits-to-all-occasions-garment?
Basic thin wool sweater, a Faithfull the Brand wrap skirt/or dress, a leather jacket (unfortunately it’s not vegan leather, but it’s an old friend that will last for a lifetime), sneakers and a Chanel purse I inherited from my 90-year-old grandma. I love absolutely everything in her closet. She got the best taste and style.

If you only had 8 different garments, what would your wardrobe look like?
Plain wool-basics, my leather jacket from Acne, our climate positive T-shirts produced in collaboration with Volt and UNFCCC,  a second-hand Reformation wrap dress, black jeans, a knit sweater my mum made me, a black jumpsuit, and a dark green long wool coat.  All items made to last for decades and throughout generations.

What colors do you believe in for next season?
Earth colors (dark green, mint, yellow gold, olives, rusty red, burgundy, beige) and of course CHOOOSE-pink

A combination! Forest-hike including diving into a post-swim in the sea with forest-view.

Galleries, if I’m in a talkative mood. Otherwise cinemas! (Although it usually ends up with a kids movie on Netflix).

Spring and summer, since it’s the best seasons for biking, plants bloom, and people tend to be in good mood

How do you beat time?
I wish there was more time to beat! If I do have some spare time I listen to NRK’s Ekko-podcast, scroll Instagram, read a book, water my plants, stretch-out, catch up with friends over the phone or go for a run. Or eat

How do you get people smiling?
If people are in a bad mood I tend to be even more positive. It usually works.
I’m also a big fan of jokes and pranks. Although it didn’t go that well 8 years ago when I persuaded the captain at a KLM-flight heading towards Barcelona to propose to my boyfriend over the speaker in front of 200 people as a joke during our first holiday together. We had been together for 1,5 months. He still doesn’t think it’s funny.

What is happiness for you?
A couple of F-words: Family, friends, festivals, French-wine, and Fridays + Green plants and biking while listening to music!

I’m an involuntary A-human (my two-year-old wakes up around 6 am every morning).

What drives you?
Gender equality and finding positive and engaging solutions to combat climate change with a yes-can-do-attitude.

What’s your life motto?
I don’t really have a motto, but I guess mine should be: Make the world great again. Or John Lennon’s “Everything will be okay in the end. If it’s not okay, it’s not the end».

Who inspires you?
My boyfriend. He is a creative multi-talent. And my mom!

It’s hard not to mention Greta Thunberg for her engagement and hard work raising global awareness for the urgent need to tackle the climate crisis.
I’m also a big fan of Per Espen Stoknes for his research on how to change people’s mindset on the way people think about global warming. Finally, I wanna give a high five to Jenny Skavlan and the TISE-team who have made reuse and shop-stop hotter than buying something new.

What do you do to make your day green?
I live with a minimal wardrobe. I repair my clothes when it is needed and only buy new clothes if the ones I have is worn out and can’t be fixed anymore, or if I have considered it for a long time that I need one piece more in my wardrobe. I also mostly eat vegetarian. And I have started using more naked products as shampoo-bars and soap-bars.

Do you have any green goals? 
Yes, my goal is to live a zero-waste life as far as possible. I am striving to be better every day, but still have a long way to go! Habits is hard to change, especially many at the same time, so I make one thing a habit before I move over to the next thing.

My whole wardrobe? I have designed my wardrobe so I can wear it to almost every occasions and every season.

It sounds cliche but being in the moment and knowing those around me are having a good time . I also feel happy when I challenge my self, and understand that its not that scary to do new things.

What?
F5 co-owner and jack of all trades. I the F5 store, brand and agency with my brothers Emil and Benjamin.

Where?
I work at F5 in Oslo, but live a 20 minute boat ride away, which suits me perfectly. From time to time I also make stuff in our little welding workshop, in our grandmothers garage.

You are what you eat, what are you?
I am meat, therefore I eat meat. I dont want to be an apple (but i do eat apples now and then). I would go 100% carnivore (eating only animal foods) but I am just to fond of my banana-pancakes with chocolate. I was 100% raw food and ate very little animal foods for more than 10 years, so this is the pendulum swinging the other way, I guess.

What would never end up on your plate?
Never say never, right? But very rarely eat grains, beans and legumes and soy.

Do you have green fingers?
Yes! I used to have a little garden of my own as a teenager, and grew herbs, spices and vegetables. A childhood friend and I also used to grow weed in the woods every summer when we where teens! I still grow plants every summer, but the weed thing has been dead for almost 15 years. It’s sad, because it was a lot of fun. More so the growing part than the smoking, actually. These days I grow flowers, herbs and tomatoes in our garden with my girlfriend and kids.

What do you do to make your day green?
As a consumer and private person, I do the regular things that most people do. I recycle, I never throw non-bio degradable things around in nature and we have a compost. As a business, we strive to make as little damage as possible, and to do good where we can. We make sure not to over produce, we choose bio-degradable fibers, organic natural fibers and never throw away clothes. If we have leftovers, we give them away to people in need, and we try to make donations to Amnesty International whenever we can.

What’s your fits-to-all-occasions-garment?
Maybe not every single occasion, but I use my old, worn out, black Avenue hoodies all the time. I have one on now.

If you only had 8 different garments, what would your wardrobe look like?
Thats pretty much what I have these days. I need a pair of jeans, a pair of suit pants, some hoodies and T-shirts. Thats it. I dont wear much else. A set of workout clothes and my ju-jitsu gi. What colors do you belive in for next season? – I always believe in black. I feel well in black. I try to use more colors, but always en up feeling like a clown. I have no clue what colors are trending right now.

Tell them silly dad jokes. Works half the time.

What is happiness for you?
Happiness for me is carrying both my daughters, one in each arm. It is being alone with my girlfriend for just a second. It is reaching goals at work, and hitting a new PR on the squat/deadlift/bench press.

The one where I would love staying up late and sleep forever. Does anyone really not want that?

What drives you?
Setting a goal, designing a strategy to reach it, implement it and see that it works. Makes me want to do it all over again every time. That, and seeing people loving the stuff we make. That is such an honor.

I don’t know if I have one. I like a quote that Mark Bell ends his podcasts with. Strength is never a weakness, weakness is never a strength.

It need to be at least two blazers, one black and one beige. Beside of that I prefer blacks pants and turtleneck or a classic sweater. I like to have it minimalist and use a pair of cool shoes to styling.
